Bonmarché Congratulate David Emanuel on his Jungle Adventure!

British Designer and International Couturier David Emanuel has won the heart of the nation during his time in the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, and Bonmarché have never been more proud of their ongoing partnership with the nation’s popular designer.

David Emanuel has worked with Bonmarché for several successful seasons, having designed his first signature David Emanuel Collection in 2007. The designer has also created premium lingerie and swimwear collections for the retailer, as well as limited edition scarves in aid of charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

David has embraced Series 13 of the popular TV show in typical good humour, proving himself a designer that really resonates with the British public. Winning much needed provisions for his camp mates during tough Bushtucker Trials and challenges and entertaining the camp with a miniature fashion show, the designer has been a breath of fresh air in the Australian outback.

Back in the UK, our team have been supporting David Emanuel all the way and we are so proud of David’s final position.

During their annual Go Mad, Go Green fundraising event for Macmillan, Bonmarché employees across the country will organise a range of activities such as holding tombolas - which include green shampoo and soap - to wearing wacky green wigs, Macmillan T-shirts and painting their faces, nails and toes green. Or even going the extra green mile and walking to work instead of using the car.

Having raised more than £2.6 million to date, Bonmarché employees in 263 stores are hoping to raise more vital funds this year as they enter their 14th year of supporting the charity.

Sharon Cottam, Corporate Account Manager from Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "I’m delighted that Bonmarché staff and customers are going to be holding this fundraising event. The money raised will allow us to provide support to more people and help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.”

Macmillan provides information, expert medical care, emotional support and financial help to people diagnosed with cancer as well as their family and carers. A spokesperson from Bonmarché said:

“The tragic events in Bangladesh have brought the processes used to manage our supply chain into sharp focus. This is a human tragedy and we are shocked by what has happened. While we have always implemented processes in line with or exceeding industry requirements and standards, there are lessons to be learned from this event right across the retail sector.

It is right and appropriate to expect our suppliers to meet the terms of the legal contracts they sign and to fulfil their obligations in a proper manner. However, our priority must be to ensure our customers can have absolute confidence that the clothes we sell are produced without risk to those making them. We are committed to reviewing how we can learn from this with other retailers, but our focus now is rightly on information gathering and supporting where possible our supplier and the families of those involved in this tragedy.”
