Easy Listening

8 April 2020

Over the next few weeks (maybe even months!) many of us will be spending more time inside than we normally would and looking for ways that we can fill our days to keep us entertained – let’s be honest there is only so much cleaning we can do!

Podcasts are a fantastic way of passing the time. They’re usually around an hour long, and they’re a great way of taking some time to ourselves and shutting the world outside away for even a small part of the day.

We’ve pulled together a selection of easy listening podcasts that we’re currently enjoying!

Happy Place, by Fearne Cotton

Happy Place, by Fearne Cotton

Fearne uses her podcast to talk to incredible people about life, love and what happiness really means to them.

One of our favourites is her International Women’s Day special (and it’s a two-parter, even better!).

No Such Thing as a Fish, by The QI Elves

From the hit BBC show QI, the QI elves huddle around to discuss the best (and most interesting) things they’ve found out this week!

This comical podcast lifts our spirits, and each episode has just as much ridiculousness as the name of the podcast itself.

Featuring a panel of film lovers discussing the most iconic films of the past decades in microscopic, blissful, in-depth detail.

POPMASTER, by BBC Radio 2

We love music and often think that when we’re listening to Ken Bruce’s radio quiz our music knowledge is seriously impressive (sometimes!) But with a daily dose of the tricky music quiz, our music knowledge is growing! Can you beat the on-air contestants?

Something Rhymes With Purple, by Something Else

Something Rhymes With Purple, by Something Else

Countdowns Susie Dent is joined by Gyles Brandreth to increase our word power. It’s comically educational and quite addictive, they make you wish you were sat chatting with them over a cuppa! With episodes such as Namby-Pamby, Oxtercog and Ugsome – we challenge you to listen to one episode and not enjoy listening to them chat. The only question is… what does rhyme with purple?
